In the whole racing universe, there is perhaps no livery more memorable or iconic than the classic blue and orange scheme employed by Gulf Oil.
What better vehicle to wear it than America’s most iconic pickup truck: the Ford F-150?
Enter the 2015 Ford F-150 SEMA concept by Galpin Auto Sports. Apart from the immediately recognizable Gulf livery and large, racing-inspired number 66 (the year that Ford’s GT40 first won the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans), Galpin’s F-150 features things like a different intercooler and performance exhaust system to augment the performance, and according to Automobile Magazine, the truck has been fitted with a Stage 3 suspension kit from Addictive Desert Designs, as well.
That suspension kit is tuned for offroad use, which is appropriate, because Galpin Auto Sports went a step further and fixed and array of driving lights and offroad bumpers to their SEMA concept, as well. Wilwood brakes, 20-inch wheels, and 37-inch nubby tires round out the list of significant alterations.
