The folks at Hennessey Performance Engineering have launched a new mail-order Power Pack for the 2015+ Shelby GT350 Mustang, promising 30 extra horsepower at the rear wheels for not much money or effort.
In fact, you can see proof of Hennessey’s claims in the video above, where an otherwise stock Shelby GT350 runs through its gears on the dynamometer. The resulting plot shows gains of 30 horsepower at the rear wheels at peak RPM, and 25 lb-ft.
Engine modifications aren’t just about peak numbers, of course; the rest of the rev range matters, too. From Hennessey’s dyno plot in the video, we can see that power and torque gains are present at every engine speed, with the Power Pack providing as much as 38 extra horsepower at 7,000 RPM.
Hennessey’s mail-order Power Pack for 2015 and later Shelby GT350 Mustangs is priced at $1,295 US, and features a cold-air intake and a handheld programmer that installs revised engine maps to make full use of it. Installation can be performed by the experienced do-it-yourselfer, and the modifications can be reversed if necessary.
