As of now, there are very few 2019 Ford Mustang California Special variants that have landed on dealership lots. However, one YouTuber has managed to find one and gave us the first look of the special edition Mustang.
After a walk around of the car, only a few differences can be spotted for the 2019 model year. Starting in the rear of the car the red California Special badge stares right at you. Moving up to the wing, a very slight change can be seen and that is Ford add a third support arm in the middle. Also the wing has a little bit more of an angle than previous models.
On to the front, the grille is different than other Mustangs. This 2019 Mustang California Special is suited with a polished black chrome rather than unpolished on others, and makes quite a visual difference. The lower grill is also a polished black finish. The combination of the front and lower grill gives a lot cleaner and shinier look than a normal GT.
Moving to the side of the car a GTCS racing stripe is exclusive to the 2019 Mustang California Special as well as a rather aggressive looking side scoop. Lastly, the interior. A detail to be noticed is the red contour stitching that runs up and through the dash and on the seats. These details are also exclusive to the Mustang California Special.
All in all, not a ton of changes. The 2019 Mustang California Special is just a trim level option for the car but it is definitely worth checking out in the video posted above.
