Anyone following U.S. auto sales stats will know that Ford’s F-Series has been a dominant sales monster. Now, the Blue Oval hopes to capitalize on this with a new website called We Own Work. Build Your Ultimate ‘Stang With Ford’s New Mustang Customizer Website
If you’ve ever hoped to build a Mustang to your tastes and desires, your time will come on Tuesday, September 20. That’s when Ford will launch the Ford Mustang Customizer — a new website that allows users nearly limitless customizations to create the Mustang of their dreams.
The Customizer will present the Mustang V6, GT, Boss 302, and GT500, each offering a variety of colors, decals, and accessories such as body kits, wheels, decals, grilles, decklids, as well as parts from Ford Racing Performance Parts and Ford Vehicle Personalization. The site will be available here and will incorporate a social media component that allows users to connect using Facebook as well as share and store all of the Mustangs they have created.
What’s most exciting is Battle Mode, which allows Facebook users to post their customized Mustang to their Facebook walls and accumulate votes in a head-to-head vote-off for the best-looking ‘Stang. Those looking to bring their customization to life will be able to download a PDF with a list of all real-world parts used in the customized machine. The PDF will be split into three categories: Ford, aftermarket, and concept accessories — and will include links to relevant websites. (more…)

Ford’s Jim Farley: “F— GM”
Detroit is a small town. In fact, it is so small, that Big Three automakers have really learned to coexist without resorting to much corporate trash talk or any mud-slinging in commercials through the past decade or so.
