Ford has halted F-150 production at Kansas City and is considering a shutdown in Dearborn after supplier Meridian Magnesium Products caught fire.
Ford is preparing to shut down five of its North American production facilities for a combined total of ten weeks.
Ford gets set to idle the Kansas City truck and van lines to scale back inventories.
“We continue matching production with demand,” says Ford Spokesperson Kelli Felker.
