Frankfurt 2011: New 1.0L 3-Cyl EcoBoost Motor To Power Euro-Spec Focus Line

Originally announced earlier this summer, Ford’s development of an all-new 1.0 liter 3 cylinder EcoBoost engine was hailed as the smallest engine ever created by the automaker. That being the case, we expected the boosted baby engine to propel A and B segment cars such as the Ford Ka or Fiesta. As it turns out, the first models to officially get the new 3-cyl will be the C segment Ford Focus; more specifically, the Euro-spec Focus as well as the B-Max and C-Max. Availability is set for early 2012.
