The UK positively loves the new 2016 Ford Focus RS.
Already, 1,500 customers across the pond have placed orders for Ford’s venerable hot-hatch, including 500 who had paid deposits before specifications and pricing had even been announced, reports Car Scoops. After those announcements, an additional 1,000 Ford Focus RS orders were placed with dealerships throughout the UK.
As you might anticipate, these rabid early adopters optioned-out their cars with plenty of extra equipment. “We expected those first in the queue, many of whom are owners of previous RS models, to be exacting about their requirements, and so it has proved,” said Ford UK Managing Director Andy Barratt. According to him, many of these 1,500 customers have opted for “motorsport-style Recaro shell front seats, 19-inch black forged alloy wheels, luxury pack, electric tilt/side sunroof and Ford SYNC2 navigation and sound system.”
In the UK, the 2016 Ford Focus RS stickers at £28,940 – or $44,490 in American currency. That compares to a base price of just $36,605 in the United States, proving that once again, it pays to live on this side of the Atlantic.
