Ford Europe Market Share Drops Slightly To 8.0 Percent In September 2015

Ford Motor Company experienced a slight drop in market share in September 2015 in the European Union, losing 0.1 percentage points for a market share of 8.0 percent. The drop comes despite Ford increasing sales volume 8.0 percent to 108,684 units in September.

The drop can be explained by the fact that The Blue Oval’s 8.0 percent sales growth rate in September was lower than the industry’s 9.6 percent growth rate, resulting in 1,279,526 vehicles sold.

The scenario is pretty much the same for the first nine months of the 2015: Ford sales are up 7.0 percent to 768,245 units, but market share is down to 7.4 percent from 7.5 percent. By comparison, the industry is up 8.8 percent to 10,413,675 units for the same time frame.
