The 2016 Ford F-150 Is A KBB ‘Best Buy’

Like the 2015 model before it, the 2016 Ford F-150 has been named a “Best Buy” by Kelly Blue Book, thanks to its breadth of impressive powerplants, its best-in-class capability, and its appealing overall value.

Out of the four available powerplants for the 2016 Ford F-150, the folks at KBB were most impressed with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. The 325 horsepower, twin-turbo EcoBoost 2.7 offers the best fuel economy of any of the four engine options, while still allowing the 2016 Ford F-150 to tow a trailer weighing up to 8,500 pounds.

And speaking of towing capacity, the most-potent of the 2016 Ford F-150 lineup – the 5.0-liter V8-powered model – can drag as much as 12,200 pounds of trailer mass, which is the highest rating of any light-duty pickup available. The payload capacity stands at an equally-impressive 3,300 pounds. Yet, despite the truck’s impressive resume, the 2016 Ford F-150 can be had for as little as $28,000 (with the normally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6), or $28,300 for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost model. Additionally, regardless of engine choice, the extensive use of lightweight aluminum throughout the 2016 Ford F-150’s body means that vehicle mass – and therefore fuel economy – will always rank among the best of the best.

The 2016 Ford F-150 “provides the right balance of capability and value,” says KBB. For all these reasons, the pickup has earned its spot as a 2016 vehicle “Best Buy.”
