This year, Ford Motor Company is the only automaker to be named to Fortune magazine’s “Blue Ribbon Company” list, comprising every global company to have been named to at least four Fortune lists in 2015.
The 2015 “Blue Ribbon Company” list this year has 25 total companies, more than in any past year.
Here are the four Fortune magazine lists that Ford Motor Company made in 2015:
Change the World
Ford Motor Company was No. 42 on Fortune‘s “Change the World” list in 2015, made up of companies which had a “sizable impact on major global social or environmental problems as part of their competitive strategy.” The list is not necessarily meant to recognize any companies’ moral “goodness.” A total of 51 companies were recognized.
Global 500
Ford Motor Company ranked No. 27 on Fortune‘s “Global 500” list, composed of the 500 largest global companies based on revenue.
Fortune 500
Like the Global 500, the Fortune 500 list ranks companies by total revenue, only with the search narrowed exclusively to those which incorporated and operate within the United States. Ford Motor Company was ranked No. 9.
World’s Most Admired Companies
This Fortune list has a complicated set of criteria. To put it simply, the biggest companies from each industry were rated by “executives, directors and analysts,” based on attributes “from investment value to social responsibility. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to be listed.” Ford Motor Company was ranked No. 6 in the motor vehicle industry.
