Ford Motor Company is recalling certain units of the 2016 F-650 and F-750 over an issue with the rear brakes that can decrease braking ability.
The problem: in affected vehicles, the rear brake hoses may contact and chafe on the rear axle housing while driving.
The hazard: a chafed rear brake line may result in an air leak, reducing the rear braking ability and increasing the risk of a crash.
Affected vehicles: 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 equipped with rear air suspension and manufactured between April 15th, 2015 and December 15th, 2015.
Number of vehicles affected: 302 (United States figure).
The fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install revised rear brake air chambers and replace any damaged rear air brake lines, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on January 11th, 2016.
