Ford Hires Designer Jason Castriota, Formerly Of Pininfarina, Bertone

Ford Motor Company has just exhibited a serious commitment to serious automotive design, hiring automotive designer Jason Castriota as its Head of Global Advanced Design.

This news comes by way of Fortune. Jason Castriota, 41, worked at the Pininfarina design firm in Turin, Italy for some years, having a hand in some truly stunning automotive designs. The list includes the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Maserati GranTurismo, and a number of concepts and custom one-offs, like the “Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina” owned by collector James Glickenhaus.

A brief stint as Director of Design at Stile Bertone followed, and then some time with Saab Automobile. Now, Jason Castriota will be plying his trade for Ford Motor Company – notably after the 2017 Ford GT has already been designed and revealed. We wonder what an automotive designer with so much experience penning stunning supercars will be tasked with designing at Ford, but whatever it is, we anticipate greatness.
