With Ken Block‘s next exhilarating, physics-defying driving stunt video – Gymkhana 8 – set to premier next week, the folks at Hoonigan decided to show off the fresh new livery that will be worn by his 650 horsepower Ford Fiesta ST RX43.
Presented in association with Block’s new sponsor, Toyo Tires, the Ford Fiesta ST RX43 will be wearing a unique black-on-black wrap in Gymkhana 8. How dull.
But wait! The Fiesta’s new Gymkhana 8 livery is “ultra reflective,” featuring a hidden multitude of shapes and designs that only become visible when the light hits it just so. The result is nothing short of awesome; you can see for yourself in the video above.
Until now, we had assumed that Ken Block’s car of choice for Gymkhana 8 would be the rear-wheel drive Ford Escort Mk2 RS teased last fall, which would have been Block’s first-ever RWD Gymkhana car. It would seem that we were wrong. That’s just as well, as this Ford Fiesta ST is anything but boring; it features a Pipo Moteurs-developed EcoBoost engine capable of a claimed 650HP, and all-wheel drive.
Gymkhana 8 will premier February 29th at 9pm Pacific Time. We can hardly wait.
