Chip Ganassi Racing has announced IndyCar’s Scott Dixon and Sebastian Bourdais will join the team’s Ford GT driver roster at the upcoming 12 hours of Sebring.
Dixon, who races for Ganassi in the Verizon IndyCar Series, will drive the No. 67 Ford GT alongside Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe, while Bourdais will share the No. 66 car with Joey Hand and Dirk Muller, just as he did at the 24 Hours of Daytona earlier this year.
“The addition of Scott Dixon to our Ford GT line-up enhances the depth chart,” Chip Ganassi Racing managing director Mike Hull said in a statement.”To have six high-calibre drivers who unselfishly know how to share with each other supports the momentum for the next step in North America.”
The 2016 12 Hours of Sebring will kick off on March 19th at 10:40 a.m. Here’s to hoping the Ford GT squad can improve on the cars reliability after it experienced near-fatal teething problems at the 24 Hours of Daytona January, a race which cross-town rivals Corvette Racing finished 1-2 in.
