For gearheads, the Nürburgring Nordschleife is a veritable Mecca – a holy place to which many will make pilgrimage within their lifetimes, so that they might drive about its sacred corners themselves.
The Ford Fiesta driver in this video had made such a pilgrimage in his car, but unfortunately, his experiences serve as a reminder of the risks that one opens himself up to every time he decides to go out on the racetrack. Driving in moderately damp conditions, the driver went too far onto the rumble strip at one of the corners, losing control and spinning into a wall in front of a crowd of spectators. After the crash, the driver apologizes profusely to his passenger before turning the right way round and pulling off the track to check out the car.
Luckily, both driver and passenger are left unharmed by the accident, and the Ford Fiesta seems to do quite all right driving and turning around on its own steam. That said, the video doesn’t explore whether any less-than-obvious damages to the drivetrain or suspension might have been caused.
Track driving is an essential experience for any motor-loving individual, and there’s no more perfect destination for it than the Nürburgring. But when you make the pilgrimage, just remember to exercise caution; your Ford Fiesta might be next.
