Ford Capri From British Series ‘Minder’ Set To Auction

A Ford Capri fastback is set to auction next month, and expected to beat the record for the highest price ever paid for a two-liter Capri.

This particular Ford Capri doesn’t hold tremendous value for any past motorsport endeavors or serious modifications. Instead, it will be relying on its celebrity status to bring in an estimated £65k to £85k (about $94k to $123k US). It was used on the British television series Minder, which ran for 10 seasons starting in 1979, as the car driven by main character Terry McCann. Another car from the series – a Daimler Sovereign – is also slated to auction, although it’s not expected to attract such a high bid.

The Minder Ford Capri has done some 88,700 miles since new, and the UK’s AutoExpress reports that the car came very close to being crushed some years ago, before being saved and restored. Both the Ford Capri and the Daimler Sovereign will be auctioned by H&H Motorcars.
