Hennessey Performance Cranks The Shelby GT350 Mustang Up To 800HP

Never content to leave well enough alone, Hennessey Performance Engineering has announced a new performance kit for the new Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang, capable of boosting output from its stock 526 horsepower to a pavement-torturing 800HP.

According to Motor Authority, the new HPE800 package accomplishes its stratospheric power level thanks mostly to a 2.9-liter supercharger. That, coupled with a revised intake tract, an upgraded fuel system to support the higher demand for petrol, and forged pistons and connecting rods to cope with higher levels of stress, allows the Shelby GT350 HPE800 to pick up an extra 274 horsepower.

What does that mean in terms of straight-line speed? Hennessey is claiming that a Shelby GT350 Mustang equipped with the new kit is capable of a blistering 3.3-second sprint to 60 mph, and a 10.8-second quarter-mile at 133 mph.

Beside the monumental performance boost, customers of the Shelby GT350 HPE800 will receive special exterior badges, and serialized plaques for the dashboard and engine compartment. That, and the supreme sense of satisfaction that comes with knowing one owns the road.
