Ford has been named 2016’s “Best Overall Truck Brand” by Kelley Blue Book for the third year in a row, owing largely to the automaker’s sole medium duty offering: the Ford F-150.
Out of the eight total years that KBB has presented the Best Overall Truck Brand award, Ford has claimed the honor seven times. The automaker offers no mid-size pickup truck in North America at the moment; beside the full-size, medium duty F-150, there is the F-Series Super Duty, a new version of which goes on sale this fall. Like the Ford F-150, the redesigned Super Duty will make use of aluminum body panels to cut down on overall curb weight.
The Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards are based on KBB’s Brand Watch™ study, which tracks consumer perceptions to gauge market opinions. The only year that Ford Motor Company did not win the Best Overall Truck Brand award was 2013, when Toyota claimed the honor.
