The Fast Lane Truck has just published a video with what appears to be a 2018 Ford Expedition test mule loaded on a transporter. This marks the second time since last week that spy shots of the new Ford Expedition have surfaced.
There isn’t much to see here, unfortunately; most of the SUV is obscured by a side door on the transporter. However, look closely enough, and you can plainly see that the bodywork on this Ford Expedition prototype is widened below the beltline, which suggests that the new utility vehicle might ship with a substantially wider track.
The 2018 Ford Expedition is expected to switch to an aluminum body like the F-150, which should help keep weight relatively low for improved fuel economy. Like the F-150, the all-new SUV could also gain a hybrid option as Ford employs every trick in the bag to meet the stricter emissions requirements coming in 2025.
