Colonel Briefs Snake On The Ford Focus SE: Ad Break

To any of our readers who happen to be diehard fans of the original Metal Gear Solid for the Sony Playstation: we’re sorry.

We’re sorry because yesterday, in our ongoing mission to provide comprehensive coverage of all the goings on at Ford Motor Company, we shared an advertisement for the Ford Fusion Titanium which uses actual, overdubbed gameplay footage from Solid Snake’s first encounter with Psycho Mantis. And, we’re sorry because we have to do it again.

Ford’s released another Metal Gear Solid-themed ad, this time for the Ford Focus SE. In it, the Colonel is briefing our hero, Solid Snake, on an issue of the utmost importance: the aforementioned Ford Focus.

The ad is just the latest in Ford’s series of “Overdub” videos, which use popular media from the 1990s – like Metal Gear Solid and the Dragon Ball Z anime series – to try to reach potential millennial customers. Hardcore fans will likely find something or other to gripe about, but for most viewers, we imagine the videos will seem innocuous and amusing, if not laugh-out-loud funny.

Check out the full Metal Gear Solid Ford Focus SE ad above.
