A new documentary, entitled “Focus RS: A People’s Supercar,” is slated to air in the UK this Friday, April 8th, on the Eurosport channel. Much like the “Focus RS: Rebirth of an Icon” eight-part YouTube series, “A People’s Supercar” follows the development of the new 2016 Ford Focus RS from concept to road car.
The program, produced by Gaucho Productions, is an hour long, and features an exclusive look at the new Focus RS’ press launch in Spain.
“Developing any new car is never easy,” said Ford Performance Vehicle Engineering Manager Tyrone Johnson. “There were definitely times when we wished a film crew wasn’t capturing every moment as we dealt with a variety of technical challenges, but the show offers a unique insight into the daily lives of the Ford Performance team. It’s an accurate reflection of what it took to develop the new Focus RS.”
Alistair Weaver, who wrote and directed the documentary, says of the film: “‘Focus RS: A People’s Supercar’ takes the viewer inside a development team as never before. There’s plenty here to delight the enthusiast, but the show will also appeal to anyone interested in a great human story of talent and teamwork. It’s really a buddy movie posing as a car show.”
The documentary will begin airing at 10:05pm GMT.
