Ford Performance today released a teaser trailer for a new, multi-part documentary about the development of the new Ford Focus RS RX rallycross competition car. The video series – dubbed “Project RX” – will debut tomorrow, April 27th.
Project RX will be the latest of several multi-part documentaries to come along from Ford’s performance division, including “Rebirth of an Icon,” which chronicles the gestation of the road-going 2016 Ford Focus RS, and “The Return,” which tells the story of the new Ford GT racing program.
The new Ford Focus RS RX competition car is the product of a collaboration between Ford Performance and English constructor/racing team M-Sport, built for competition in the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship (WRX). Two examples are being run by Hoonigan Racing Division, piloted by Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud. We expect those two drivers to appear regularly in the Project RX documentary, alongside Ford Performance Director Dave Pericak, and perhaps a few other familiar faces.
Be sure to catch the Ford Focus RS RX’s next performance at the World Rallycross of Hockenheim, May 6th.
