Ford Ranger Goes Racing In South African Donaldson Cross Country Series: Video

Two V8-powered Ford Ranger pickups are battling it out in the Production Vehicle class in this year’s Donaldson Cross Country Championship in South Africa. Both are being run by Neil Woolridge Motorsport, with the support of Ford Performance.

The first race of the 2016 season just took place at the beginning of April in Vryburg. The largely-stock Ford Ranger race trucks produced mixed results, finishing 3rd and 8th in-class (6th and 17th overall). Both trucks will head back out on the trails on May 7th, at a Super Sprint event in Gauteng.

The Donaldson Cross Country Championship is an intense off-road racing series, with plenty of hazards to cripple even the most heavily-modified racing machines – let alone a lightly-tweaked Ford Ranger.
