The Smoking Tire Drives A 2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang: Video

Recently, The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah found himself in the rather enviable position of having a 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang to himself for about a week. Mr. Farah did with the car what any sensible person would; he took it to his favorite set of mountain roads, and had some fun.

The resulting video is unlike the majority of what The Smoking Tire does in that Farah usually sticks to tuned and modified cars owned by fellow enthusiasts. Nonetheless, the Shelby GT350R’s carbon fiber wheels, aerodynamic pieces, and astonishing 5.2-liter “Voodoo” V8 make it a prime subject for a romp.

Last year, we had the chance to drive the Shelby GT350R Mustang for ourselves – albeit on a closed course, for a brief time, supervised by a driving instructor in case anything major should go wrong. Still, from that experience, we can tell you that it’s simply one of the most visceral, engaging cars out there, regardless of what might be faster around the Nürburgring, or in a straight line.

Watch the latest video from The Smoking Tire above to see if Matt Farah agrees.
