Ford Motor Company is returning as the title sponsor for Detroit’s huge, annual fireworks show this year – a partnership stretching back to 2013. A production of The Parade Company, the annual Detroit fireworks show is a big draw in the city, with hundreds of thousands of spectators enjoying the display each year.
The 2016 Ford Fireworks will take place on June 27th, with pyrotechnics choreographed by Patrick Brault – the same man responsible for designing fireworks displays at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. According to news site ClickOnDetroit, this year’s display will feature some 10,000 pyrotechnic effects.
“The Ford Fireworks grows bigger and more dynamic each year thanks to the support of Ford Motor Company and our many generous partners,” said The Parade Company President and CEO Tony Michaels. “Now in our 58th year, this event has brought together the city and provided much joy and fond memories over the years.
“We are thrilled to continue that tradition of putting on a breathtaking show for viewers.”
The 2016 Ford Fireworks in Detroit will be broadcast by local NBC affiliate WDIV, starting at 7pm.
