UK-based tuning firm Mountune Performance is already hard at work improving upon the all-new, 2016 Ford Focus RS all-wheel-drive hot-hatch, having just released a collection of bolt-on performance parts in the UK. A full Mountune Performance Package for the Focus RS will be made available at a later date.
As Auto Express reports, Mountune’s smattering of “Phase 1” aftermarket performance parts for the new Ford Focus RS currently includes upgraded boost and induction hoses, a high-flow cone air filter, a billet short-shift arm, OZ Racing wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and plenty more.
Perhaps most interestingly, Mountune’s website also offers a Quaife ATB (Automatic Torque Biasing) differential to replace the stock open one. It’s a gear-based unit, promising smoother operation than a conventional plate-type limited-slip diff. This same differential was original equipment for the previous, second-generation Ford Focus RS.
Mountune is still putting the finishing touches on a complete Ford Focus RS package, with the final sign-off still pending. “The Ford Focus RS is one of the most exciting and dynamically advanced Ford road cars,” says Mountune Performance General Manager David Moore. “For our engineering programme to reliably extract more power and torque – whilst ensuring proper interaction will all the car’s dynamic modes, suspension and launch control – has necessitated an extended durability sign-off.”
