Ford Announces Free Days At The Michigan Science Center

The Ford Motor Company Fund is sponsoring four free-admission days at the Michigan Science Center (MiSci) throughout the year, with dates just announced this week. The four “Ford Fun Free Days” will take place on:

  • Monday, July 4th – 10am to 3pm
  • Saturday, August 13th – 10am to 6pm
  • Friday, November 11th – 10am to 8pm
  • Monday, January 15th – 10am to 5pm

The Ford Fund also helped to bring the Smithsonian Institution’s Spark!Lab to MiSci this year – an exhibit full of games and hands-on experiments meant to foster scientific curiosity in children of all ages. In addition, the automaker is sponsoring MiSci’s “The STEMinista Project,” which seeks to interest girls from 4th through the 8th grade in fields relating to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

“A good education focused on technical skills is essential for future innovation in business and increased prosperity for our communities,” says Ford Fund Community Relations Manager Yisel Cabrera. “By opening more doors to STEM, Ford is confident more students will be drawn to science and technology not only because it is fascinating, but also because it’s a lot of fun.”
