Ford Appoints New President For Middle East And Africa

Ford Motor Company has named a new President for its operations in the Middle East and Africa: Jacques Brent, 46, who currently serves as Vice President of Marketing for Asia Pacific. He will replace Jim Benintende, 60, who will now serve as Ford’s Director of Sales Support in the US.

Website ConstructionWeekOnline reports that Jacques Brent has nearly two decades of experience with Ford Motor Company, with roles in finance, marketing, sales, and general management across three different continents. His new position as President of Middle East and Africa is effective starting July 1st.

“This is a great opportunity in Ford’s newest region and I look forward to continuing the growth and momentum we have established in these diverse markets,” said Mr. Brent. “The team have done [sic] great job establishing the region and it is an honour for me to be able to lead this region as we embark on the next exciting phase of our development.”

Brent’s predecessor, Mr. Jim Benintende, started his Ford career some 40 years ago as an assembly line worker in Mahwah, New Jersey, before moving up through a series of marketing and sales positions. He oversaw the relocation of Ford’s Middle East and Africa headquarters to Dubai, the start of production in Nigeria, the creation of sales and purchasing offices in North Africa, and helped develop a long-term strategy for regional expansion.
