Transformers 5 To Use Sixth-Gen Ford Mustang Police Car

Michael Bay has just released a still image of one of the cars from the upcoming fifth title in the Transformers live-action film series: a sixth-generation Ford Mustang police car.

This cop-themed Ford Mustang will be the vehicle mode of the Decepticon known as Barricade, and should serve as an appropriate opponent to the new, sixth-generation Camaro vehicle form of Bumblebee. The S550 Ford Mustang has been given a menacing appearance for its big-screen role, complete with a push bar, light bar, pillar-mounted spotlights, aggressive hood scoops, and a massive rear wing. The rear fender panels wear Barricade’s notorious slogan: “To punish and enslave.”

In previous films in the Transformers series, Barricade’s vehicle mode was based on a Saleen-modified Ford Mustang police car; we’re unsure if this new iteration is meant to have any such Saleen ties. Transformers: The Last Knight has a scheduled release date of June 23rd, 2017.
