The right-hand drive Ford Mustang has launched in India at last, reports India Today, with a sticker price of Rs 65 lakh (about $97k US) in Delhi before on-road costs.

Earlier price estimates for the Ford Mustang in India had run the gamut from Rs 50 to 95 lakh ($75k to $142k US). The pony car is available exclusively in “GT” trim with a 6-speed automatic in the country, featuring a detuned version of the familiar 5.0-liter Coyote V8 making around 395 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Top speed will be limited to 155 mph.

Still, it’s not all bad news for India; there, the Ford Mustang comes standard with the Performance Pack, meaning that every buyer will be greeted by a limited-slip differential. The MustangĀ is also a comparative bargain there, coming in far below the price of, say, a Porsche Cayman, which can cost upwards of roughly $160,000 US.
