Matt Farah Drives His New, Personal Ford Focus RS: Video

Seeing as The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah has driven just about everything under the sun, one might suspect that he applies a rather stringent list of criteria when he goes hunting for a daily driver.

Those criteria have apparently been met by Mr. Farah’s newest personal car: the 2016 Ford Focus RS.

Farah has just entered into a three-year lease on the new hot-hatch, opting for the Nitrous Blue exterior color to stand out from the herd. His car also has the RS2 Package – a $2,785 option which includes heated, black-leather front seats from Recaro, heated wing mirrors, a heated steering wheel, and voice-activated navigation with Ford’s latest SYNC 3 infotainment system.

Compared to the Ford Focus RS’ foremost German rival, the Golf R, it sits a little higher, and fails to reach quite the same level of refinement. But that’s quite all right with Mr. Farah, who 1)has a bad back, and 2)says that the Ford’s level of refinement is higher than one might expect. “What most of the reviews haven’t told you is what a nice luxury car this is,” he says of the new Ford Focus RS. “The materials that I touch the most are nice and soft; it’s got this great, contrasting blue stitching all over… matching my Nitrous Blue exterior.”
