Although the 2016 Ford Focus RS is still quite fresh to the US market, having just started shipping out to North American customers perhaps a month ago, tuning firm Mountune USA has wasted no time at all rolling out a full suite of performance upgrades for early adopters. The outfit’s latest offering is a range of Focus RS Cobb Accessport packages.
Cobb Tuning produces and markets Accessport ECU upgrade devices for a number of different cars, including the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 991, and VW GTI. Its new Accessport V3 for the 2016 Ford Focus RS comes loaded with a few in-house ECU map options, while also allowing the user to create their own maps. What Mountune USA has done, in essence, is take the device and begin to sell it with their own maps preloaded in addition to Cobb’s “off-the-shelf” maps.
The value proposition of Mountune’s basic, $650 Focus RS Cobb Accessport upgrade is tempting enough, but the range of options becomes even more alluring when one looks at the range of in-house upgrade bits Mountune is pairing with the device. The firm has put together five different packages, each with more upgraded engine bits than the last, and each featuring Cobb’s Accessport device with several Mountune-generated ECU maps.
And because everything is calibrated in-house, you know you’re getting the absolute most out of every bolt-on piece you have installed.
