Mountune Promotes New Phase 3 Focus RS Upgrades: Video

Late last week, tuning firm Mountune released a video to YouTube proudly trumpeting that its new “Phase 3” collection of performance upgrade parts for the 2016 Ford Focus RS are now available.

The new parts, which are all listed on the UK’s MountuneStore.com, appear to be absent from the Mountune USA store for the moment; we would guess that their arrival stateside is impending. The new smattering of Focus RS bits includes components like a stainless axle-back exhaust kit and slotted brake rotors.

Mountune’s website boasts that the new axle-back exhaust upgrade saves 3 kg compared to the stock Ford Focus RS system, and reduces back-pressure significantly. The sound of the new muffler can also be altered by the user with an mTune handset. The new, slotted brake rotors should theoretically help to reduce brake fade during heavy use, without exhibiting any of the faults typically shown by cross-drilled discs.

Also new with Phase 3 of Mountune’s Ford Focus RS upgrades is a wheel-and-tire upgrade package, featuring an exclusive, lightweight “Leggera” wheel design from OZ with rather slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Mountune says that 3.05 kg is saved per-wheel as a result of the upgrade, and of course, the Michelin tires provide superb grip in dry-weather conditions.
