Ford Super Duty Diesels Tackle A 10k Lb Trailer Tow Course: Video

Human beings have managed to find all manner of interesting ways to pass the time: sports, knitting, dog shows, etc. Some people even drive diesel trucks competitively.

Don’t believe us? The evidence is out there right now on the Motor Trend YouTube channel.

Today, Motor Trend published video coverage of the “10,000-Pound Trailer-Tow Obstacle Course” portion of the 2016 Diesel Power Challenge, which has diesel-truck drivers tow their way through a highly-technical course marked off by pylons. The goal is to get through as quickly as possible, while avoiding hitting any of the cone markers, and the complexity of the maneuvers involved means that power takes a back seat to skill and, perhaps, low-end torque.

If you’ve ever wanted to see how a few diesel-powered Ford Super Duty pickups might handle in the hands of some tremendously-skilled drivers, you’ve come to the right video.

Skip ahead to 2:42 in the video above to see the first Ford Super Duty of the day tackle the 10,000-Pound Trailer-Tow Obstacle Course. More smoke-belching Ford Super Duty diesel trucks take to the track later, starting at 4:46, 6:37, and 12:45.
