Europe Gets Two New Ford Mustang Special-Edition Models

Although European fans of the Ford Mustang have been left out of the loop when it comes to the excellent Shelby GT350 track star, the Blue Oval hasn’t entirely neglected the market. Today, at a special “Go Further” event in Cologne, Germany which saw the introduction of the next-generation Ford Fiesta, Ford Europe pulled the wraps off of two new, special edition Mustang models exclusive to the European market: the Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition, and the Ford Mustang Blue Edition.

“The Ford Mustang has no trouble standing out on European roads, and with the new Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition and Blue Edition models, Mustang drivers will be turning even more heads,” says Ford Europe VP of Marketing, Sales & Service Roelant de Waard. “Special edition Ford Mustangs have been an important part of the Mustang story for more than 50 years, and now customers in Europe can play their own part in the iconic car’s rich special edition history.”

2017 Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition in Triple Yellow

The Black Shadow Edition Ford Mustang is based on the V8-powered fastback GT, spec’d with lavish features including Ford SYNC 3 infotainment, heated and cooled seating, and premium ShakerPro audio with 12 speakers and a subwoofer. It will be available in Platinum White, Triple Yellow, Race Red, or Grabber Blue, and will boast exclusive black 19-inch wheels, dissolve-effect black stripe graphics along the hood bulge and door bottoms, a black Pony grille emblem, and black “5.0” badges on the front fenders.

2017 Ford Mustang Blue Edition

The Ford Mustang Blue Edition, meanwhile, will be available with either the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 of the GT model, or Europe’s base 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4. Its defining aesthetic features are its Grabber Blue exterior paint and dissolve-effect black racing stripes. Like the Black Shadow Edition, it’s spec’d with SYNC 3, heated and cooled seating, black 19-inch wheels, and a premium audio system.

The Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition and Blue Edition will be available to European customers in the coming weeks.
