Ford EcoSport To Be Unveiled In The United States

For some time now, numerous publications (including our own) have deduced that the European Ford EcoSport crossover utility vehicle must be bound for sale in the US, as indicated by several sightings of the pint-sized CUV testing on American roads.

It seems as though we were right; as Autoblog reports, a grand, three-day event officially revealing the Ford EcoSport in the United States is scheduled to take place next week. News of the “Go Small. Live Big.” event was broken by “Snapchat King” DJ Khaled, and Autoblog says that the Ford EcoSport’s LA reveal was confirmed for the night of Monday, November 14th by a company Spokesperson, although that Spokesperson did not divulge what new markets the CUV might now be offered in.

Given that the big reveal is happening in Los Angeles, California, it seems doubtful that the Ford EcoSport isn’t bound for this market.

The “Go Small. Live Big.” event will feature numerous musical acts and “examples of people doing a lot with a little,” says Autoblog, which is sort of emblematic of the Ford EcoSport itself. On sale in Latin America since 2004, and in Europe since its second generation launched in 2013, the EcoSport is a subcompact crossover based on the same platform as the Fiesta.

The Ford EcoSport will most likely be one of the four new SUV/CUV nameplates coming to the US market in the midterm future, as announced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
