Ford F-150 Wins A Kelley Blue Book ‘Best Buy’ Award, Again

The 2017 Ford F-150 has taken home Kelly Blue Book‘s “Best Buy” award in the Pickup Truck category, marking the third year in a row that the pickup has won the honor.

The Ford F-150 was named a 2016 KBB Best Buy because it once again “sets the benchmark for pickups with its blend of capability, competence and innovation,” says the website. New for 2017 is an available 10-speed automatic transmission, paired exclusively with a revised, higher-torque version of Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost. The truck represents the first use of such a transmission in a production vehicle.

In its writeup regarding the 2017 Ford F-150’s Best Buy win, Kelley Blue Book praised the truck’s usability not just as a work truck, but as a personal vehicle. “As an everyday vehicle, the F-150 is surprisingly competent,” they wrote. “While its inherent size will never make it as nimble as a sedan or a smaller pickup, the Ford tends to drive smaller than it actually is.”

And, with a broad range of trim levels from basic to downright decadent, the Ford F-150 can suit just about any driver’s budget and criteria.
