It’s official; Ford is the “Best Truck Brand” for 2017 according to US News & World Report. This is the second consecutive year that Ford has taken home the award.
The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the US for each of the past 34 years. Although the F-Series line encompasses everything from the light-duty Ford F-150 through the brand-new Super Duty range, US News & World Report only cited the F-150 when announcing Ford as the Best Truck Brand for 2017. The outlet praised the light-duty pickup’s “fuel-saving engine designs, some of the best payload and tow ratings in the class, easy handling and roomy cabins.”
The Ford F-150 is currently available with two fuel-sipping EcoBoost engines: a 2.7-liter V6, and a larger 3.5-liter unit. The latter has been revised for the 2017 model year, now offering greater efficiency with more horsepower and torque. It’s now paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission – the first of its kind ever to be used in a volume production vehicle.
