A 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor attracted a winning bid of $157,000 at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction last week, with 100% of the proceeds to go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The Ford F-150 Raptor in-question wears the final VIN for the 2017 model year, and will be painted a unique color chosen by the winner.
Ford President and CEO Mark Fields was on-stage with the one-of-one F-150 Raptor as it crossed the block, along with a handful of designers and engineers who worked on the new off-road supertruck. The Ford F-150 Raptor is all-new for 2017, featuring a potent, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that makes 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. A new 10-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine firmly planted in the power band when needed, while Fox Racing Shox and a 6-mode Terrain Management System provide the utmost control.
The new, 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor starts at $50,155 including destination, and tops out at around $74,000 with every box ticked. This means that Ford has managed to raise more than double the maximum MSRP of the new high-performance truck for the JDRF.
Bravo.
