By now, it’s anyone’s guess as to whether the rumors surrounding a forthcoming Ford Mustang Mach 1 will actually prove true. After all, we would suspect there is only so much room for special, limited-edition models in the pony car’s stable, and there’s evidence to suggest that both a new Boss 302 and a new Bullitt-edition Mustang are in the works.
But we can all dream, can’t we? Mustang6G member chrisvr6 would probably agree that we can. He’s made a rendering of what a 2019 Ford Mustang Mach 1 could look like, based on the facelifted, 2018 Ford Mustang and informed by the trends of past Mach 1 iterations. The image can be seen on Mustang6G.com.
The alterations found in chrisvr6’s rendering include a “shaker” hood painted black with an angry, protruding ram-air snout, a matching black rear spoiler, a classic-looking three-stripe Mustang grille emblem offset to the drivers side, and classic “Mach 1” graphics behind the front fenders. Each is an aesthetic touch that has become associated with the Ford Mustang Mach 1 over the years.
If a Ford Mustang Mach 1 is in the works, we would expect it to launch for the 2019 model year – the 50th anniversary of the original.
