The 2017 FIA World Rallycross is just about to kick off with the World RX of Barcelona this weekend, so Hoonigan Racing Division recently took its pair of Ford Focus RS RX-spec cars to the track for a final shakedown test. We aren’t privy to how much drivers Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud have have fiddled with their respective setups, of course.
But there is one big change to the Focus RS RXes that we’re privy to: a brand-new livery. It’s not dissimilar to last year’s bold, busy patterns, but with the added “dimension” of offset blue and red overlays like in the sort old-school 3D images that come with cheap cardboard viewing glasses. Without the proper viewing equipment, it’s a funky, hip little throwback to the 1990s. With the glasses, we imagine all the other cars on the field will look rather flat by comparison.
Does anyone know where we can buy red-and-blue 3D glasses?
Be sure to tune in April 2nd for the World RX of Barcelona to see Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud battle it out in their fresh-looking, 3D Ford Focus RS RXes.
The drivers door side view works ok with 3D glasses, making the advertising panels appear to float over the white zig zags.
