Ford Motor Company U.S. Sales Decrease 4 Percent To 208,440 Units In February 2017

Ford and Lincoln dealers in the United States delivered 208,440 new vehicles in February 2017, a 4 percent decrease compared to February 2016. Sales of the Ford brand decreased 4.5 percent to 199,696 units, while Lincoln sales increased 8.8 percent to 8,744 units.

“We continue seeing strong consumer demand for the highest-series Super Duty pickups and the all-new F-150 Raptor, plus greater availability of 2017 model year F-150s,” said Mark LaNeve, vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “This drove a $3,600 increase in average transaction prices for F-Series last month alone, Lincoln had a $2,100 increase, ultimately delivering an overall company transaction price increase of $1,900 per vehicle.

Ford Motor Company:

  • Cumulative Ford Motor Company sales, which consist of Ford and Lincoln sales, decreased 4 percent to 208,440 units:
    • Retail sales decreased 3 percent to 134,576 vehicles
    • Fleet sales, including daily rental, commercial and government segments, decreased 5 percent to 73,864 units. The decline reflects a strong year-ago comparison, with fleet customer orders front-loaded at the beginning of 2016.
      • Daily rental deliveries accounted for 17.8 percent of total sales, down 0.8 percentage points
      • Commercial deliveries accounted for 12.3 percent of total sales, up 0.3 percentage points
      • Government deliveries accounted for 5.4 percent of total sales, up 0.1 percentage points
    • Overall car sales decreased 24 percent as customers favored trucks, SUVs and crossovers

Ford sales decreased 4.5 percent to 199,696 units:

Lincoln sales increased 8.8 percent to 8,744 units
