Ask any non-car guy how to wash a car and you’ll likely get laughed at, but the fact of the matter is that cleaning a vehicle properly, without scratching surfaces or leaving debris behind, is an involved and deliberate process.
Luckily, the folks over at Chemical Guys have put together a video series to cover the topic in detail, using a current-generation Ford Mustang GT as their demonstration vehicle. The first installment is embedded above, and we rather hope you enjoy slow, indulgent montages of dudes lathering cars up, because there are several of those.
Several times in this video, Nick from Chemical Guys mentions “emulsifying” the dirt and other debris on this daily-driven Ford Mustang, which sounds pretty science-y and complicated. But don’t get intimidated; “emulsify” is a five-dollar word that essentially means “to mix thoroughly.” The idea here is to let the cleaning product do its job of lubricating and dispersing the debris so that when you go about removing it, you don’t mar your Mustang’s beautiful finish.

first you need to rinse the car. then start from the top and work your way down. If its hot and in the sun where you are at, then just do one section at a time so as the soap wont dry on the paint. take your time and make sure your using a good soap. Then rinse and dry with a soft Towel.
