Ford’s Lincoln luxury brand is making some truly smart moves these days, from the decision to pursue what it calls “quiet luxury” instead of leather-wrapped performance, to its focus on delivering exclusive perks and services to customers in order to sweeten the pot – things like its convenient Pickup and Delivery program, or the Lincoln “Culinary Collection.”
Or, like the chauffeur service the Ford luxury brand is launching as a pilot program this year. Called (appropriately) “Chauffeur,” the service will allow paying Lincoln customers to arrange for a driver to be sent to their location using a mobile app. Driving the customer’s car, chauffeurs can transport the customer around town, and run errands like gassing up the car or picking up groceries. It’s also likely a terrific solution to when you leave your car at the bar after having drank too much to drive, or to getting a pleasant ride to the airport when going out of town.
For now, Lincoln’s Chauffeur service is only available in Miami, but soon it will reach San Diego and – assuming Lincoln sees fit to keep it around – continue expanding. Drivers are thoroughly vetted, and the program is available to all Lincoln owners, not just new ones. New owners, however, are given the equivalent of eight free hours of Chauffeur service, which is expected to cost around $30 per hour on average.
