For the first time since digital advertising provider Swoop started keeping tabs, the Ford F-150 pickup truck has surpassed the Chevrolet Corvette as the most read-about vehicle in the United States.
Swoop’s quarterly Automotive Digital Brand Exposure Index revealed that both the Ford F-150 and the Ford Mustang had surpassed the Corvette, previously number one on the list, in terms of number of related article reads online in the first quarter of 2017. The F-150 had come in at number two since Swoop started the index.
At the same time, the Ford brand dropped from the number one spot it held in the fourth quarter of 2016, to number two on the list. Chevrolet came in first. The message is clear: people are reading more about the Ford F-150 and Mustang, both of which are receiving updates for 2018, while reading less overall about the brand’s other nameplates.
