Ford’s ‘Hot Shot’ Express Parts Delivery Service Surges In Popularity

Although not new, Ford’s “Hot Shot” express auto parts delivery service has seen a bit of a surge in popularity recently, growing from just a few dealer providers several years ago to more than 300 today.

Ford’s Hot Shot service allows service garages to place orders for certain high-volume parts like brakes, hoses, and filters with participating dealers, who truck the components out within two hours, enabling garages to turn out repairs without much wait time. The typical Hot Shot delivery time for parts is far more immediate than the usual dealer delivery system, which often leaves service garages without certain needed parts for days.

Village Ford in Dearborn, Michigan was among the first dealers to start participating in the delivery service several years ago. Andrew Kochan, Parts Manager at the dealership, says Village Ford “typically [runs] 20 to 30 Hot Shot deliveries per day and between 100 and 150 each week. These deliveries are going to 40 different customers including other dealers and independent shops… all are pleased with the service and many are amazed by our dedication to helping them better serve their customers.”

The dealer recently added another driver to keep up with demand.

Aaron Brzozowski is a writer and motoring enthusiast from Detroit with an affinity for '80s German steel. He is not active on the Twitter these days, but you may send him a courier pigeon.
