The all-new, 2017 Ford GT supercar will be front and center this year as it participates in the annual hillclimb at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Ford has announced. The race-spec Ford GT debuted at the event last year, but this is the first time for the road-going version of the car.
Piloting the Ford GT up the 1.16-mile driveway to Lord March’s house will be Ford Chip Ganassi drivers Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell. Their colleague Billy Johnson will drive the same stretch of pavement in the Ford Mustang GT4 – a new customer race car revealed at the SEMA Show last year. And in case you haven’t heard, the Goodwood hillclimb this year adds a new drift competition, which will draw Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Ford Mustang RTR out to make a play for “Drift Champion” by sliding up the hill sideways in style.
The 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed is scheduled to take place from June 29th through July 2nd. Along with the untouchable performance machines named above, the all-new Ford Fiesta will be on display for showgoers to enjoy – its first public showing in the UK. A whole range of ST-Line models will also be present, including the Fiesta ST-Line, Focus ST-Line, Kuga ST-Line, Mondeo ST-Line, and a new S-MAX ST-Line.
