2004 Ford Bronco Concept To Appear In New ‘Rampage’ Movie

It seems that Ford Motor Company’s retro-modern Bronco SUV concept from 2004 will make an appearance in the new Rampage movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The pro wrestler-turned-actor shared a still frame from the upcoming movie via Instagram, featuring himself and co-star Naomie Harris sprinting away from the Bronco concept, and presumably toward certain danger.

The film is a big-screen adaptation of a series of videogames of the same name, in which players control gigantic monsters that’ve been given the extremely gratifying task of reducing cities to rubble, while trying to survive a constant (human) military onslaught. It seems as though the movie will be told from the perspective of the embattled humans, which is kind of a shame.

While a new Ford Bronco SUV is on the way for a 2020 release, Ford was quick to point out that the concept and its cameo appearance in Rampage are not indicative of what the public should expect from the production model. “The Ford Bronco seen in Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming movie, ‘Rampage,’ is the 2004 Bronco concept,” Automotive News was told via email by a Ford spokesperson. “It does not represent the future Bronco beyond sharing the iconic Bronco name.”

Rampage is scheduled for an April 20th release in the US.
