Ford Recognized As A ‘Veteran-Friendly’ Employer

For its hiring and support of US military veterans, Ford Motor Company has been recognized by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency as a “silver-level” veteran-friendly employer. The certification program is meant to highlight employers in the state that do an especially good job of recruiting, training, and maintaining veteran employees.

Among the attributes that make Ford a good employer for former US military members, the company maintains a Veterans Network Group that helps veteran recruits make the transition from military culture to corporate culture. Additionally, the company has met or exceeded its veteran hiring goals, and has implemented internship and on-the-job-training programs for former service members.

“Ford Motor Company is dedicated to supporting our military personnel, veterans and their families,” says Ford Labor Affairs Vice President Bill Dirksen. “We value the military experience of our nation’s brave servicemen and women, the technical skills they gain while serving our great country and their leadership qualities.”

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is an entity of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, helping to connect former US military service members with services and benefits within the state.
