The city of Dearborn, Michigan just welcomed the grand opening of a “Ford’s Garage” restaurant location this week. Despite the fact that Ford Motor Company is headquartered in the city, the US chain of Ford’s Garage restaurants actually started way south in Florida in 2012, and that state still plays host to every single current location but for the newest one.
Ford’s Garage is a licensed tribute to the 114-year-old automotive company that prides itself on its gourmet hamburgers. The new Dearborn location emphasizes using locally-sourced ingredients when available, and offers a selection of some of the best craft beers in Michigan, as well as other iconic local products like Vernors ginger ale.
The drink menu for the new Dearborn location of Ford’s Garage contains playful, automotive-themed names like “V6 Sangria”, “Antifreeze Cooler”, and “The Model Tea”. Just as important, the restaurant’s decor features pieces from Ford Motor Company’s long history like early Ford cars, display-grade vintage engines, and photographs of company founder Henry Ford. The interior was even modeled after a pre-war service garage.
